beatviz privacy policy

Last updated: November 2, 2026

beatviz is an Android app that listens to music through your phone’s microphone and shows its beat. This policy explains what data the app uses and who receives it.

Microphone audio

beatviz uses the microphone only while it is listening, that is, between pressing START and STOP (it also stops when you leave the app). The audio is analysed on your phone to find the beat. It is not recorded, not stored and not sent anywhere, neither to us nor to anyone else.

Settings stored on your phone

beatviz stores a few settings on your phone, such as the display sync and whether you have seen the introduction slides, plus the anonymous purchase identifier and a cached copy of your purchase status (see below). The settings never leave your phone, and everything is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear its data.

Purchases

beatviz Pro is sold through Google Play. Purchases are processed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy; beatviz never sees your payment details.

To check whether you have beatviz Pro, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat receives:

RevenueCat does not receive your audio, location, contacts or any other personal information from beatviz. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy. Data is encrypted in transit.

What beatviz does not do

beatviz has no user accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It does not sell or share data with anyone other than Google Play and RevenueCat, as described above, and only for purchases.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling beatviz deletes everything stored on your phone. To have your purchase records deleted from RevenueCat, write to the email address below; your Google Play purchase history is managed by Google in your Google account.

Children

beatviz is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
